Video: Auto-Generate Serial Numbers

TRANSCRIPT:

Welcome to Inventory Serial Numbers. This video will show you where and how to set the start of a Serial Number sequence, add, or generate Serial Numbers, and how to search for specific Serial Numbers.

From the left side navigation, click on Settings. Then Next Slab Serial Number. This page always displays what number will be used next for auto generation. At the top, click on the Edit icon to enter a different number for the system to use next in the sequence. O nly numbers can be used for auto generation. No letters, dashes, or special characters.

For flexibility, Serial Numbers can be added at several points in Moraware Inventory. You'll find the option when receiving Slabs, in Purchase Orders, and when viewing Slab Information.

From a Slab View, click on the Slab Status to edit Slab information. If there's only one Slab, the option to enter or generate a Serial Number will appear. If there's more than one Slab, click the Set Serial Numbers button.

You can auto generate all the numbers, manually enter all, or use a combination of both. Manually entered Serial Numbers, can use numbers, letters, dashes, and special characters.

When numbers are autogenerated, the system checks existing numbers and will not assign a duplicate.

When manually entering a Serial Number duplicates can be used. This functionality exists so that partial Slabs can have the same Serial Number as the original Slab they were cut from.

Serial Numbers in Inventory can also be searched. Type the number in the Search bar, then select from the suggested options. For a full view, use the Search icon, or tap enter on the keyboard for a quick summary view.
